Clair Obscur Expedition 33: The Movie

Last January, a movie based on the game was announced, even before the game’s release. Sandfall Interactive, the creators of the game, is teaming up with Story Kitchen to develop a film adaptation. At this point, no casting or director has been announced.

Story Kitchen is amedia company that specializes in adapting video games into films. Among its credits are the Sonic movies, so we can expect a strong adaptation for the big screen.

Art Director

The Crew

Only 30 people worked on the development of the game. The CEO Guillaume Broche, previously worked at Ubisoft before leaving the company to found his own studio, Sandfall Interactive. He mentioned that the most influential styles behind Expedition 33 came from JRPG, and some of his favorite games include Persona 3, Demon’s Souls, Final Fantasy VIII, and Journey. the influence of these titles is clearly reflected in the game’s design.

Fisrt Video Game

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is the fisrt video game developed by Sandfall Interactive. The game is published by Kepler Interactive, whose catalogue includes titles includes titles such as Sifu, Bionic Bay, Ultros and Pacific Dive.

The studio was founded in 2020 in France, and it took over five years to complete Expedition 33. It’s clear that this game is on its way to becoming a classic RPG, and possibly the start of a future sage with more releases to come.
